Benefits of Learning Quran with Tajweed Online

Learning the Quran with Tajweed means learning to recite the words of Allah as they were revealed, letter by letter, rule by rule. Today you can do that from anywhere in the world, one-to-one, with a teacher from Madinah, and see real progress every week. Here are the benefits of learning Tajweed online, and what makes the experience at Quranic Values different.
Why Tajweed Matters in the First Place
Allah commanded:
Two benefits come before everything else:
- Protecting the tongue from mistakes. Tajweed guards you from errors in letters and vowels that can change the meaning of Allah’s words, and from the hidden errors that take away the beauty of recitation.
- Reciting the Quran as it was revealed. Tajweed is the way the Prophet ﷺ received the Quran from Jibrīl and taught it to his Companions, and it has been passed down the same way ever since.
And the reward is great. The Prophet ﷺ said: “The one who is skilled in the Quran will be with the noble and righteous scribes (the angels), and the one who recites the Quran and stammers in it, finding it difficult, will have two rewards.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 4937 and Sahih Muslim 798; Dorar.net)
Recitation Is Received from a Teacher
The Companion Zayd ibn Thābit said: “Recitation is a Sunnah that is followed” (القراءة سنة متبعة), cited in Mabāḥith fī ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān by Mannāʿ al-Qaṭṭān (Islamweb). The Quran is not learned from books or guesswork alone. It is received by talaqqī: listening to a qualified teacher, reciting back to him, and being corrected. The Prophet ﷺ himself named Companions to learn the Quran from: “Take the Quran from four…” (Sahih al-Bukhari 4999; Dorar.net).
That is why the best way to learn is with a qualified teacher, within a clear study plan. At Quranic Values, Sheikh Abdullah Yaqoob holds a documented ijazah with sanad in the narration of Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim, and our founder, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Yaqoob, holds a certificate from the Islamic University of Madinah (Faculty of the Holy Quran and Islamic Studies). 9 Benefits of Learning Quran with Tajweed Online
-
Learn from Madinah, wherever you live
Whether you are in London, New York, Toronto or Sydney, you can recite to native Arabic-speaking teachers from Madinah who taught in the Quran circles of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, without travelling.
-
Full one-to-one attention
Every class is live and one-to-one. Your teacher hears every letter you recite and corrects it immediately, so no mistake is left to settle in.
-
Read together on a shared screen
With screen sharing, you and your teacher look at the same page at the same moment. He points to the exact word, and you read it with him directly.
-
Explained visually on a whiteboard
Whenever a course needs explanation, such as Tajweed rules, Maqamat, Hadith or Arabic, the teacher explains on a digital whiteboard, so you understand the rule and do not only memorise it.
-
See how each letter is made
For articulation points, Sheikh Abdullah shows jaw models and tongue-position drawings on screen, so you can see where each letter comes from before you pronounce it.
-
A schedule that fits your life
Classes run Sunday to Thursday, and study times are available around the clock, so children, students, parents and professionals can all find a fixed slot that works.
-
Short, focused, task-based classes
Each class is up to about 25 minutes and ends when its task is done. Short daily classes, five days a week, build steady progress without fatigue.
-
A personal plan you can measure
Every student gets a study plan that is reviewed every month: how much new material, how much daily revision, and what to improve next.
-
Confidence to lead and to teach
Correct recitation gives you confidence to lead your family in prayer, to lead Salah in your community, and one day to teach others. Read our guide on the role of Tajweed in leading Salah.
