Summer Quran Learning for Kids: How to Make the Most of the Holidays

A child making the most of the summer holidays with online Quran classes

The summer holidays give children something they rarely have during the school year: free time. Used well, a few weeks of summer can move your child’s Quran memorisation forward more than several months of term time. Used badly, the summer either slips away, or turns into pressure that makes a child resent the Quran. Here is how we help families get the best of both: real progress and a happy holiday.

«أَحَبُّ الأعمالِ إلى اللهِ أدْوَمُها وإنْ قَلَّ»“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those done consistently, even if they are small.”Narrated by ʿĀʾishah. Reported by al-Bukhārī (6465) and Muslim (783); graded ṣaḥīḥ by al-Albānī in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ (163). Dorar

Why the Summer Is a Golden Opportunity

During the school year we keep lesson amounts modest so children can manage homework as well (see balancing school and Quran learning). In the holidays the situation changes: your child has more free time and more energy for memorisation. That is the moment to make the most of it.

What Changes in Our Classes During the Holidays

We do not run a separate “summer camp”. Your child continues with the same one-to-one teacher and the same personal plan, but the plan is adjusted to use the extra time:

  • A larger daily lesson: more new lines memorised each day.
  • More daily revision: to strengthen and secure what was memorised before.
  • The same short, task-based classes, up to about 25 minutes, so the extra work happens in preparation, not in long screen time.

More Progress, Not More Pressure

We do not add extra class days in the holidays. Classes stay Sunday to Thursday, and Friday and Saturday remain your child’s free days. This is deliberate.

The holiday is the child’s time to rest, play and enjoy themselves. If we spoil it with pressure, a child can start to dislike the Quran and even the religion itself, and that is a serious danger. Our aim is a child who enjoys the holiday and gives more time to the Quran, so the Quran stays something they love.

Need a Different Class Time? That Is Easy

Holiday routines are different from school routines. If your child needs a new class time, simply send us a message. We review the schedule, suggest other available times, you choose, and we confirm. This is available at any time of year, not only in the summer.

Best Idea for the Summer: Add a Second Subject

One of the most useful things a student can do in the holidays is add another subject alongside the Quran. For example:

  • A student who is memorising the Quran can add theoretical Tajweed, learning the rules in detail with their names and definitions.
  • Or join our Hadith course on the hadiths of manners (ādāb) and daily remembrances (adhkār), which benefits a child greatly in everyday life.
  • Or start the Arabic language course.

Adding a second subject is affordable: our two-subject program costs only $30 more per month than a single subject.

A Simple Summer Plan for Parents

  1. Before the holiday starts

Tell the teacher the holiday dates so the plan can be adjusted.

  2. Agree on a new class time if needed

Choose a time that fits your family’s holiday routine.

  3. Consider a second subject

    Tajweed theory, Hadith or Arabic.

  4. Keep weekends free

Let your child enjoy Friday and Saturday fully.

  5. Prepare for the return to school

Before term starts, the teacher brings the amounts back to a school-friendly level.

Questions Parents Ask

Do you offer a special summer camp or group program?

No. All our classes are one-to-one with the same teacher all year. In the summer we adjust your child’s personal plan to make the most of the extra time.

Can my child have more than 5 classes a week in the summer?

No. Classes remain Sunday to Thursday so your child keeps two free days and enjoys the holiday. Instead, the daily lesson and revision amounts increase.

Can a new student start during the summer?

Yes. The summer is an excellent time to start. Book the free 3-day trial and the teacher will build a plan suited to your child.

Make This Summer Count
