Online Quran Courses for Kids: What to Expect

Online Quran courses for kids: what parents can expect

Thinking about online Quran classes for your child, but not sure what actually happens once you sign up? This practical guide walks you through everything, from booking and the free trial to what a class looks like, what your child will study, and how you will follow their progress, so you know exactly what to expect.

Why Online Quran Classes Work Well for Children

  • One-to-one attention. Your child is the only student in the class. A shy child who would stay silent in a group feels free to recite, ask and make mistakes.
  • Teachers from Madinah. Families in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia can reach experienced teachers from Madinah who taught in the Quran circles of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, without travelling.
  • Short, focused classes at home. No commuting, and classes are short enough to suit a child’s attention span.
  • Progress you can see. A daily record and a monthly result show exactly how your child is doing.

And the reward is great: the Prophet ﷺ said, “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari; Dorar.net)

From Booking to the First Month: Step by Step

  1. Book online

Fill in the short booking form: your child’s name and age, the course, and a preferred time for the first meeting. Our team then confirms the time with you by email or WhatsApp. Booking for more than one child, or a different course for yourself? Simply send another request.

  2. Day 1: Meet the teacher

Your child meets the teacher, and together you agree on a fixed daily class time.

  3. Day 2: Level assessment and a personal plan

The teacher assesses your child’s level and builds a personal plan: where to start, how much new material and how much revision each day.

  4. Day 3: The first real lesson

Your child takes the first lesson according to the plan.

  5. Day 4: Continue

If you wish to continue, choose a monthly or 3-month plan and carry on with the same plan and teacher. Payment is only after the trial.

  6. Every month: review the plan

At the end of each month the plan is evaluated, and you receive a result showing how much your child memorised and progressed.

What Your Child Will Study

Stage What it covers
Noorani Qaida Correct articulation points from the first lesson, letters with vowels, letter shapes, then words, until your child reads a full verse alone. Color-coded: red for Ghunnah and Madd, green for Qalqalah.
Reading with Tajweed Reading from a color-coded Tajweed Mushaf, with the basic rules learned alongside: what Tajweed is, the characteristics of letters, Ghunnah and Madd and their types. Online Tajweed classes
Memorisation (Hifz) Memorising from the color-coded Mushaf, with daily new lessons and daily revision set by the plan. Quran memorization classes
Also available Hadith & Islamic Studies and the Arabic Language course.

Not sure where your child should start? You do not need to decide. The course you choose when booking is only a preference; the level assessment on day 2 places your child at the right starting point.

What a Class Looks Like

  • Live, one-to-one on Google Meet, Sunday to Thursday, at the fixed time you agreed.
  • Up to about 25 minutes, task-based. Your child knows the day’s tasks. Finish them well and the class ends early; waste time and it takes longer. Children quickly learn that focus pays off.
  • Shared screen and whiteboard. The teacher reads with your child on the same page and explains visually when needed.
  • A clear memorisation method. Listen to the teacher, listen and repeat, repeat alone while looking at the page, then recite from memory.
  • Practice at home. The first three Noorani Qaida lessons are recorded in Sheikh Abdullah’s voice, so your child can listen between classes.

How You Follow Your Child’s Progress

Every day the teacher records the grade for your child’s new lesson and revision in the student record. You can follow it daily, and at the end of each month you receive a result: how much was memorised and how far your child progressed.

Losing motivation Rewards at home, friendly competition, and visible progress in the monthly result. See fun ways to teach kids Quran at home
